The chase began in Eddystone Borough when officers spotted a vehicle with stolen tags and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver failed to pull over, 6abc reported citing Eddystone Police Chief Edward Mokshefsky.

The chase went through multiple departments' coverage areas, ending in Tinicum Township at Route 420 and Rt. 291/Industrial Avenue and Wanamaker, just south of Philadelphia International Airport, around 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, Fox29 detailed.

That's where the suspected stolen vehicle and another private passenger vehicle collided, according to 6abc.

The suspect was pronounced dead on the scene and the other driver was hospitalized, the outlet wrote citing Mokshersky. The driver's condition was unavailable at the time of publishing.

Officers from Haverford Township helped with the accident reconstruction, according to Fox29. The area was closed to traffic for several hours, 6abc explained.

The suspect who died has not been identified.
